Dear Movie Guests,

This is the last weekend before you send the kids back to school. Why not use it to catch up on some movies you may have missed?

That's what I'm going to do. Our family was traveling just before Christmas, and I did see a few movies at an AMC 24 multiplex in Orlando. Both The Ringer and The Family Stone are in our sights for January, and I previewed both of them for you. Thumbs up. Don't travel to a different time zone to see these movies! Be patient.

What wasn't as fun in Florida was paying $9 per ticket and waiting 25 minutes at a concession stand line after waiting 20 minutes in a ticket line. We had some lines of our own this week, and I appreciate everyone's patience.

While I was in line in Orlando, I had a delightful conversation with a retired Florida school teacher who still retained his New Jersey accent. The gentleman had taught Johnny Depp in ninth grade biology. He still stays in touch with the star through a Depp-initiated e-mail correspondence. He told me that Depp was quiet and not a troublemaker, though not a terribly good student. He passed Biology, though.

Thank you, Crawford County, for your support of the Eagle Theater this year. We are coming up on our second birthday on Feb. 6, 2006, and we're working on some new ideas for the new year. If you have suggestions, drop me a line at eric@eagletheater.net

See you at the movies!
